Back pain can happen to anyone, but I can tell you that individuals who are overall healthy- heal quicker, respond better to care, and often have a lower level of pain. Here are some steps to take to improve your overall health which will help get rid of, lessen, and prevent back pain.

#1- We are what we eat! Putting in good fuel means we’ll get good fuel out. Limit going out to eat because you don’t know what’s in a lot of the things you’re getting, plus you sometimes can’t avoid the fried stuff and sugars.

#2- Start walking a little everyday. Just a 20 minute walk a few days a week makes a difference. Get out, get some sun and fresh air.

#3- Avoid excess stress and toxins to your system. If you smoke and/or drink, try to decrease it; if your job is extremely stressful, do what you can to change your environment if possible. Mental stress will eventually turn itself into physical stress.

#4- Drink a little more water and take a multivitamin supplement. We all know these days that it’s impossible to get all the vitamins and minerals we need from our food, we really need to supplement. Also, most people I know don’t drink enough water.

Try doing these things as best you can and watch your health improve. Add chiropractic treatment to the list and you’ll become not just a little healthier, but one of the healthiest.

Pain and Stress. They seem almost to go hand in hand – not only in their negative connotation, but also in their biological causes and triggers. Back pain and muscle pain is typically caused by inflammation in the proximity where the pain originated, which in turn creates internal pressure, activating pain receptors in the nerve endings and sending the signal (registered as varying levels of discomfort) to the brain.

Some people are born with a naturally higher tolerance to pain – what’s been dubbed the “pain threshold”. Then there are the rest of us, who have normal or low pain thresholds and if chronic back pain, muscle pain, or nerve related pain or illness were to be introduced into our lives, we would be forced to be a prisoner to “the bottle”. The “bottle” being one of the many prescription painkillers or narcotics prescribed to so many suffering daily, chronic muscle pain and nerve related pain.

So there must be a better way to control the pain, and manage it successfully without constant reliance on and possible addiction to prescription pain medication? And there is. Along with an excellent new naturopathic, herbal pain remedy recently introduced to consumers, there are several things you can do to manage pain effectively, and in turn even reduce stress and improve your overall mental and physical health – all of which are key factors in successful pain management.

On of the best ways to manage stress and in turn reduce pain, is to employ some sort of low impact, muscle soothing exercise, like basic yoga, tai chi, or water aerobics. These types of exercises not only stretch the muscles and keep them limber and lithe, but they effectively “massage” and calm muscles, have very little impact on joints, strength the supportive muscles of the back, and can even help reduce inflammation in the body. The mind-body connection is very strong, there is no doubt – just start an exercise routine like this and I guarantee your mood, pain and anxiety virtually melt away.

Exercise also releases and creates endorphins, which are a natural “antidote” to pain, stress, anxiety, fatigue and depression. The release of endorphins can actually reverse the negative effects these afflictions can have on your body. If you’re a habitual exerciser, think of how you lethargic you feel after a few days of inactivity, and you’ll understand this concept! Inactivity is one of the biggest underlying causes and perpetuators of worsening pain, lethargy, depression and anxiety.

Meditation is also a great method to reduce pain, anxiety and the host of other undesirable problems so prevalent in America today. Like yoga, and other relaxation techniques, meditation allows you to focus only on you, your breathing, and your body. This faciliatates the “harmonizing” of the body and the mind, the ultimate feeling of well-being, vitality, and tranquility, all of which will help you manage pain and stress. This will keep your mind sharp, focused, and better able to deal with the daily stress life can sometimes bring.

Combine these few simple lifestyle habits with the use of an herbal pain remedy where needed, or even just employ these habits alone, and I guarantee, pain will not only be easier to cope with when it rears it’s ugly head, but also will be reduced greatly in it’s severity and frequency. It quite simply is a necessity to living pain free.

Yoga today is quite mainstream with over 15 million practitioners and this number is growing rapidly daily. There is good reason for this because in addition to relief from stress and improved physical health, many people are approaching yoga for help with specific medical problems and with the full support of their physicians. Studies have shown that yoga therapy can reduce chronic lower back pain which has otherwise proved to be a very stubborn problem with only moderate success from purely medical treatments. This is the main reason that so many sufferers turn to alternative therapies such as yoga.

Here is a yoga exercise that should help you reduce lower back pain. As always, please confirm with your doctor if it is OK to do yoga exercises if you have a chronic condition. Another tip is to do all yoga exercises with slow, smooth movements and no sudden, jerky moves. Also, you should focus mentally on your movements as closely as possible, concentrating on any aches you may feel when stretching and keeping in mind that if you feel any pain, you should stop immediately. This mental concentration is not only very relaxing but complements your physical pose to provide a more complete and beneficial exercise.

The Cow-Cat Pose

Assume a position on your hands and knees, with your back straight (unbowed) and relaxed, the crown of your head facing front, your face down, your hands straight under your shoulders with palms on the floor and your knees below your buttocks, parallel to your arms. Breathe in slowly and as you do so, slowly drop your belly button down as far as it will go towards the floor along with your trunk and simultaneously lift your heart and head up so that your back is scooped downwards. As you complete this movement and your inhalation, hold the pose for a few seconds along with your breath. (This is the ‘cow’). Then exhale slowly, arching your back by lifting your belly button as high as it will go while you drop your head between your shoulders. Complete this move along with your exhalation and hold the pose and your breath for a few seconds. (This is the ‘cat’). Remember to make the movements flow smoothly from the cow to cat poses and then as you transition to another set. Repeat 5 to 10 times, depending on the amount of time available and how you feel your back pain responding.

Contrary to popular belief, there is a difference between stress and anxiety. Stress comes from the pressures we feel in life which releases adrenaline. Anxiety, on the other hand, is a feeling of apprehension or fear. Both stress and anxiety can cause muscle stiffness and tightness. This can cause discomfort adding the feelings of stress and anxiety. Massage chairs offer a multitude of massage therapy treatments to induce relaxation and to calm the muscles and body.

Stress is normally caused by what is known as a stressor. Stress can come from any situation or thought that makes you feel frustrated, angry, nervous, or even anxious. What is stressful to one person is not necessarily stressful to another. In other words, it is situation dependent and individual dependent.

Anxiety is stress that continues after that stressor is gone. Anxiety is a feeling of fear or apprehension. This usually accompanied by feelings of impending doom. The source of this uneasiness is not always known or recognized, since the symptoms may persist long after the source of the stressor is gone. This also adds to the feelings of distress.

Stress is the way our bodies and minds react to something. It is usually associated with something that is impinging on our current balance in life. A typical stress is the fight or flight response. Our adrenal glands release adrenaline which is a hormone that causes our heart rate to increase, our blood pressure to increase and our muscles to tense.

Some of the more common symptoms of stress are constant aches and pains, palpitations, anxiety, and chronic fatigue. The primary response of stress is immediate protection of the body. However, in todays highly changing world, the stress we feel often lingers and with it the common symptoms.

Anxiety tends to be a feeling of unease. These feelings happen when we face situations of high uncertainty, for example, an important test or a job interview. Our body provides the energy and strength by the release of hormones. The sustained release of hormones can interfere with our normal activities.

Anxiety can interfere with normal life. If we have prolonged anxiety, then this can become destructive to the body. This can start a series of thoughts of helplessness and excessive worry. We begin to focus and overanalyze our situations. We can ruminate about a situation without end which causes the stress to become sustained.

Luckily, massage chairs can help you to relieve many of the symptoms of both stress and anxiety. Massage therapy has been increasing in popularity as a natural method to relieve tension and anxiety in our lives. Massage chairs are effective in delivering massage therapy to the whole body.

Massage chairs have many of the most effective massage techniques such as Shiatsu, Swedish, deep tissue and more. These techniques help to relieve muscle tension which reduces their associated aches and pains. Stress causes muscles to tighten and massage helps to loosen them up.

Massage chairs come equipped with music players that help you to relax during the massage. It is very therapeutic to take your mind off the ruminations of thoughts about the stressful situation you find yourself involved. Playing soft rhythmical music helps the mind to relax while the muscles are being soothed and relieved. Massage chairs can be an excellent asset to help you relieve your stress and feelings of anxiety.

Reduce your stress and tension with a soothing and relaxing massage when you need it. Massage Chairs provide you with unprecedented access to massage therapy and a multitude of treatments. Everything at the touch of a button. Get Back Pain Relief when you need it most. When it flares up!

What Causes Lower Back Ache in the Morning?

It seems that a lot of people suffer from lower back ache in the morning when getting out of bed. This can have lots of reasons but most commonly the back pain is a result of something you did the day before. It is possible that you lifted something that was too heavy or you lifted something incorrect. Even though most people know how to lift a heavy object it’s astonishing to see so many people using incorrect lifting techniques which results in strained muscles and sprained ligaments.

It’s not always obvious what caused the back ache. Sometimes stress builds up at work and also stress builds up in your back and then suddenly without any warning the hurt is done and you wake up with lower back pain. It’s also possible that you sit before your computer all day or drive a car or truck. Obviously this is not good for your back. We weren’t made to sit down all day if possible try to walk around every hour for a few summary. If this is not possible then shift your weight regularly when sitting down so your weight isn’t on the same point all the time.

Another cause could be your bed or mattress.

The choice of your bed and mattress is absolutely critical in solving many back injuries. But, this does not absolutely mean that you should buy a bed that is described as solving any particular medical problem, or as an orthopedic bed or mattress.

Most of the orthopedic mattresses are too hard, and I would not recommend an orthopedic mattress to someone who suffers from back ache. What you really need is a bed mattress that is solid and supportive, instead of being hard. If you regularly have a lot of back pain you should change your mattress regularly as old mattresses regularly don’t give you the help you need.

If you are a constant back ache sufferer I would suggest you spend as much money as you can afford when buying a new bed, because I judge that sleeping on a first-class bed can make a considerable distinction to your back ache problems. Evidently, everyone who has a back pain condition has a to some extent diverse problem and therefore there is not one perfect sleeping explanation that covers every back pain problem. Therefore, you must do a little research when you buy a new bed. That new bed could be the step you need to take to overcome your back ache problems and maybe solve the problem very rapidly.
